It depends on the work and how long I've sat on it. Some things get a beta, some things that I've sat on for ages and I've gone over a few times don't. It purely depends on how worried I am about other people following my thought processes.
Typically if a work is less than five hundred words, I won't sweat having a beta look it over. For longer works I would prefer to have a second set of eyes give it a once-over, but it's been a long time since I've found anyone to beta for me. I've been out of the fandom loop for a while, so I might hit up one of the beta comms here in search of a buddy.
I prefer to use a beta, but my experience is kind of hit or miss. So sometimes when I just want to post something I skip that step.

Sometimes. I prefer to have someone else's eyes on a fic before I post, but sometimes I post without.
I always want a beta to look over what I'm writing. always.
