The away mission had been taxing. He was willing to admit he was tired, and his muscles ached. Nyota must feel the same, her exhaustion reflected in the dirt smudged on her face and the worrisome gash on her forehead. But her eyes were clear, and softer than he had seen in a week. A long week. He did not think the relief he felt was only because John Harrison had been apprehended.
Guys, I keep thinking about writing 100 words for this pic, but I keep giggling, snorting, and making whale noises. This is seriously my favorite scene in the entire reboot franchise. (I think I have a thing for S/U out of uniform, hehe.)
Nyota looked at Spock. Looked at him for the first time what it felt like weeks. She can see that the skin around his eyes is fully relaxed, and the air around them was not as tense as the weeks before. She couldn't help but smile at him, trying to convey that she understood where he was coming from, and he understood her concerns. An undeclared peace settled among the both of them. It as though he was thinking the same thing as they leaned their heads closer to one another.
Nyota moved to close the space between them, more pleased than she wanted to be at witnessing him do the same. Out of his blues, Spock looked taller with his weight loss more apparent as his pale skin stood out from the dark cut of the mercenary gear he wore.
They stop a foot away from each other, regarding their faces or in Spock’s case her lips. His eyes praise her even as his mouth remains silent. Pride, worry, amazement and admiration. Her lips curl up in thanks before she leans forward and treats him to a kiss. Old romantic.
