This is a thing that seems to get rediscovered now and then; I recall a study from several years ago wherein rats were given repetitive tasks to perform until they ended up with severe RSI, and this led them to go into a depressive, low-energy state so they could heal.
Of course as a modern tech worker I get the severe RSI and depressive state but can't seem to find the time to just sleep for a month like I need...
