I take a high dose of fish oil (abt 9000mg) daily. I've also tried curcumin before (worked pretty well, I might try adding it back in). Those both helped a lot with my body pain, which I'm fairly sure is mostly inflammation based. I'm also trying to figure out dietary stuff which will hopefully help in the long term! Cutting out foods I'm allergic/sensitive to has also helped.
Meloxicam and lot's of ice packs. Although, I've only been able to deal with it with ice lately because I had to stop taking Meloxicam for an oral surgery and again for a minor surgical procedure (hand nodule) since it's a blood thinner. I have like four ice packs in my freezer and they're always getting tons of use. One of my brothers had hernia surgery and we split my ice packs while he was in recovery so that he could manage his post-op inflammation. I was glad I have four because I was like I COME WITH ICE!!!
Do you deal with inflammation, and how do you manage it?
I'm currently waiting to try a cannabis based medicine by recommendation from my physician and local pain advocacy group. Crossing my fingers that it works for me.
Recently found that pine tar soaps helps with inflammation of my skin and scalp. 👍
I'm interested in hearing how that goes! I know that a lot of my grandma's siblings used to use a homemade cannabis based topical cream to ease the pain caused by rheumatoid arthritis. It def has its legit medical uses, which is why I'm glad it's slowly being legalized across the states.
That's interesting! One of my friends uses rose water to deal with her inflamed skin.
I've used rose water for acne prone skin in my younger days so I could see that working. I'll definitely be speaking about my experience! 💜
