Surgery Update
So I had my hand surgery 6 weeks ago. I went in for the 6 week follow-up. My surgeon was about willing to take the restrictions off my hand usage. Instead, he looked at the x-rays and the fusion isn't complete, so I have to go back in another month for more xrays. I'm frustrated because I'm right handed, and this splint gets in the way of everything. I was hoping I wouldn't have to wear it anymore, but I still do. He said the plate looks good, and the screws although they're too long, they're still good too.

Best of luck over the next month!
Thanks, Lizzy. I'm hoping it heals.
I'm going in for wrist surgery in just under two weeks and this makes me slightly nervous. :P
Heal up quick!
Good luck with your surgery. Best thoughts and wishes for you.
I heal slow, so I knew was a potential issue. And I think because it's trying to fuse two bones together where there was once a joint isn't helping.
Thank ye kindly!
I'm having a tendon sheath cleaned out and the tendon reinforced. I have hypermobile joints so this may not end well...
Ah yes... That ever present tendon rupture issue with that surgery. Seriously hoping for the best. I've had that surgery before and it turned out fine. (I have contracted joints instead of hypermobile though)
I'm fairly sure it'll go well - I had a surgery on my ankles (taking the tendons and running them through the ankle bone; my ankles were so loose they'd turn under me at 90 degree angles) that had a pretty decent chance of failure and it's still quite good even six years on - and if it does go wonky, well, I'm losing the use of this wrist/hand anyway, it'll just happen faster...
Hypermobility is a bitch. :P
Hope your surgery goes off without a hitch Umegaki!
Thank ye! <3
