Sting (born Gordon Sumner) first rose to fame in the late Seventies, as the bass-playing singer and primary songwriter for the Police, with whom he released five chart-topping albums before the trio disbanded in 1983. (The Police reunited briefly in 2007.... The 65-year-old rock star reflects on how he got his nickname ("It was derisory"), why he disbanded The Police ("My intuition was telling me that that was the thing to do") and how, over Thanksgiving dinner, he came up with the song that could bring him h... The Police's final studio album was both a technical and artistic tour de force, and yielded one of their most memorable hit singles. Yet the three members were unable to play in the same room without a fight breaking out, so the recording sessions proved... Knew I liked him! Can't argue with him on ELTSDIM, either...
