I have read the dogs don't have full bladder control until at least six months, so if your puppy is sometimes peeing inside, it may not be that she isn't getting it but that she just can't help it yet. I have taken comfort in this and hope it's true. Mr. Doodle just hit six months.
She was doing sooooooo good - no accidents Sunday afternoon until Tuesday evening. We mistakenly thought we were in the clear! Then last night she peed on the bed and then on the floor and this morning pooped on the kitchen rug . . . .
By the way, I read online that you should not consider your dog to be potty trained until it can go 4 to 6 weeks without an accident. For a while, Duncan's max seemed to be six days. Without fail on the seventh day he would have an accident. He has made it a few weeks now (unless you count the accident he had had Matt's house while I was out of town, which we don't, because Matt said he had left The dogs home alone too long and he thinks that Duncan just couldn't possibly hold it anymore) so I have high hopes. But in the first couple of months, I was starting to feel like we would never get to this point.
THANK YOU! Last night it felt like we'd regressed 50 billion years and were now trying to train stone age puppy . . . . .I was rethinking naming her Dino . . . .

Did you do any puppy classes with Mr. Doodle?
Enjoying the yellow lakes and tootsie rolls?
