All things SWTOR!
Writing Woes: "Why won't you people do what you need to do?"
So what do you do when you just ... can't see what comes next in your story? Like, to the point where "just write down garbage and edit later" doesn't work because even that requires knowing how all the little people are moving around?

That's a very good question. :\ *offers writerly sympathy*
usually when this happens to me i take it as a sign that i need to put the project down and go do something else. either work on a different project, or do something else entirely to give that part of my brain a break, and come back to the project later with fresh eyes.
Take a break from the current thing and try something different for a bit? And if that doesn't work, take a break all together? Idk DX
Really vague outlining, usually. I'll just take a shot in the dark like "what if I did THIS" and work out a few chapters with a sort of rough structure and just play around with the possibilities. More often than not I'll end up with a bunch of bad ideas and one or two things I might actually be able to use. Worst case I know what not to do.
Or like others suggested, set it aside for a bit. Give it a few days and come back with fresh eyes.
LOL, been there. Kinda am there. I want to get right to the JUICY KILLY SAD HEARTBREAKING BITS but there's this stupid linear story line I swore I would write even if I kill most of it later.
Odd thing is, I'm writing my SW story on Corellia, but derped around with one of my JKs over the weekend, who is also there and got a nice plot bunny out of it. Just flipping it to the Empire side.
