Has anyone gone to Origins by themselves?

I found out the person I planned on going with canceled at the last second, does anyone have experience with going to Origins solo? Did you still have fun?

Yes, I've gone a number of times by myself. I spent a lot of time in the Board Room - it is very easy to find others there to play a game with, as people advertise that they are looking for players. Or, you can pick a game you are willing to teach and walk around with the box lid - that indicates you are looking for others.

During the game, make it a point to talk to the others about who they are (instead of just people to push pieces around a table at you).

Once you do this a few times, you will then have met people!

Yes, but I don't know if it counts because I was there to run Organized Play games, so I kind of had a community by default. Still, I found it to be a fairly welcoming con, and honestly, it's easier to get into games you want if you only need one seat. :D
