question of the day: what's your favorite spread?

i'll start with mine, and i'll reply to the comment with a quick little graphic. my favorite spread is a really simple/generic five-position one called "The Road".
i like it because it has an extent of structure and narrative, but is still pretty flexible-- it's the first spread i've come up with myself that i've ended up using regularly.
second-favorite is "how do i get there"-- you lay a card for where you are now, a card for where you need to get to, and then three for practical steps in-between. no graphic for that one because it's pretty self-explanatory.
My favorite spread is currently a three card spread that I know as "Metaphors of Time." It's pretty simple, and I think it's more commonly known as "Past, Present, and Future." I like it because it hits the basics on any question, but I've been known to get something deeper than I was expecting. I've been working on moving up to four card spreads to slowly work my way up to more complex ones.
that is a really good one! and that's a good approach to learning spreads. a lot of people overlook how much you can get out of a smaller spread.
you can get surprisingly rich and deep things out of three-card spreads, but they're also not difficult to do or interpret quickly. (i'm jealous of people who are good with the celtic cross: i don't know if i'll ever be useful with it.)
I love the celtic cross! It takes me like a week to fully interpret it but I find it immensely satisfying. Rarely do it for myself though, can't get motivated if there isn't some sort of a deadline hanging over me.
I've been looking at some four card spreads that I want to try out, but I feel pretty comfortable with three card spreads lol. I hope to be able to do the celtic cross too! I've also seen people use some pretty complex spreads that I don't know the names of, but I think it'll be a long time before I could do a 15+ card spread and be useful instead of overwhelmed lol.
My favourite spread is the four-card 'Problem spread' I know from the Galaxy Tarot app. I feel like three-card spreads are always a bit too concise for a proper in-depth reading and I rarely have the energy to carefully interpret more than four cards, so I feel like it fulfils my particular requirements. I also think it's quite practical and versitile, with the 'situation', 'challenge', 'advice' and 'outcome' positions it can be successfully applied to most questions.
I've shared it in this group before but I'm proud of how it looks and don't have many places to show it off so here it is again, my graphic for it:
it is a good spread, and the graphic you made is gorgeous!
This is such a pretty graphic! I'm going to have to add this to my list of spreads to try.
