If you're itching to start a company out of a garage, then you shouldn't pick up and move to Silicon Valley, according to Google cofounder Sergey Brin. It's easier to start a company outside the Valley than in it, he said onstage at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit.

Easy for him to say but not what he did.
I don't really think any of what he did would be considered the normal way to do things.
True but then no one should take his advice as something given from a normal person.
When I read this, I immediately thought about Ready Player One and the beginnings of John Carmack in Kansas (Masters of Doom)... perhaps the future will engross the Midwestern United States if tech talent is properly fostered. idk... maybe this has always been a thought of mine (East Coaster originally from the Midwest talking here).
