AMC's Preacher
AMC has launched their new series; "Preacher". This new series is based on the popular comic books by the same name. Right off the bat, you can tell this is going to be an amazing TV show.
We follow the life of Jesse Custer, a preacher who's taken up residence in a small town in Texas. He wants to help people and tries to erase his past. In the first episode, we meet Jesse, his old friend Tulip and Cassidy, a foul mouthed Irishman who seems to have some interesting powers.
Preacher is incredibly well done, it has a very dark aesthetic and the writing and acting are top notch. Although I was a comic book reader in the late 90's, I never got around to reading Preacher, but you certainly don't have to be familiar with the source material to enjoy the show.
So far, my favorite character has got to be Cassidy. I'm not sure if it's his accent, or the fact that he's a 119 year old vampire who lives in the church's attic. I was incredibly pleased with his battle with two strange men who seem to be hunting him down. A chainsaw battle in a church? Yes please!
Preacher airs on AMC every Sunday, make sure to watch it and let us know what you think!

I'm really enjoying it too. I'm not familiar with the comics but the show has got me so far!
Yeah, what a great show. I wish they didn't have the AMC guy "Last time on AMC's Preacher", it kind of cheapens the show. It works fine for Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, but it's a bit annoying on Preacher.
I can't wait for next week, will Cassidy reveal his true identity? It seems he has that discussion with Jesse in the previews. I'm glad there's so much great TV this summer. Three more weeks of GoT and Silicon Valley, then we get Mr. Robot in July and Halt And Catch Fire in August. I hope Preacher is more than 8-10 episodes.
OMG I didn't realize we were getting close to Mr. Robot and Halt and Catch Fire!
YUP! I've been scouring the web for Mr. Robot and H&CF news for the last few months. There's lots of news about the cast out there, Sam Esmail and the team have been pushing the new season. There were some puzzles on whoismrrobot.com that a reddit community figured out, it just brings you to a t-shirt page, but it was really cool, some stuff "hidden" in the web page's source code.
Halt And Catch Fire hasn't been releasing much at all, it took them forever to even release a vague release date, let alone any real info about the new season. Season 3 will take place in San Francisco/Silicon Valley, which is great because I grew up in that area and remember when the internet first went public, and the library network of gopher servers and whatnot that preceded it.
