Day 2 of Watch Dogs 2
(I promise I'm not intending to do daily update!)s after this one!)
I gave Watch Dogs 2 a second chance last night and had more fun. This time I limited myself to two basic activities: just messing around in the open world, and doing "Quest Journal Missions" (my name for them).
Messing around was fun...it usually is in these open world games, at least for a while. I was just stealing cars and driving around, hacking people to collect cash or listen to their weird stories, taking random pictures of stuff, grabbing control of cars and making them crash..just playing around. I was amused.
When I say Quest Journal Missions I mean basically "Story Missions" and side missions doled out to me. I think part of my problem on my first night was I was (in some cases) trying to do activities that I wasn't really prepped for yet. I was playing like I was end-game Aiden Pearce (the protagonist of the 1st game) rather than new-game Marcus (protagonist of this one). By focusing on the missions that were handed to me I know they were all achievable.
Still, after a couple hours I'd had enough and went off to play something else. But I did enjoy the time I spent in game. I switched things up because I was having a fantasy hankering more than anything else. I wound up in Skyrim for a bit.

Ah, a link is OK, I guess : /
But the controls on that moped looked really tight. Driving in open world games irritates me to no end mainly because of other drivers. So far, Saints Row's driving has been my favorite, but this one (based on the moped) looks pretty good.
I kind of feel like its too tight, honestly. Part of the fun of these games, for me, is when you're driving like crazy and lose control and wind up flipped over on top of a boat or something. So far all the vehicles I've jacked have been really easy to drive. No random mayhem. :) Hallower says later you get faster cars that are harder to control though, so in term of "I just jacked a Prius" maybe this is pretty accurate. I mean how much trouble can you really get into on a moped, right?
As GTA has shown us, part of the fun is trying to make the vehicles do stuff they weren't intended to do! Maybe you just need to find a way to use the moped in other ways... XD
