Guardians of Ember
I picked up Guardians of Ember, the other day, in the same bundle that I got Manual Samuel. It's one of those games that I had my eye on, but there were enough negative reviews that I decided to wait until I could get it at a super cheap price. You know what? For a $4 game, I think it's just fine!
It's basically an online ARPG, a lot like Paths of Exile in that you are not alone. You will run into other people out in the world, doing their own hack n' slashing. The graphics do look dated and the controls do feel clunky. I can't argue with those criticisms. They are true. But, despite that, I'm having fun! I'm having a blast running around and killing things. I can stop to fish, along the way. And, eventually, I'll have a house! So, that's something to look forward to.
Much like Runes of Magic, GoE has a primary class and secondary class for their characters. I haven't reached the level, yet, when I can unlock my secondary class, so I don't know how those mechanics work. I don't know if you'll have to switch back and forth (a la Runes of Magic) or if that secondary class just supplements your primary class and turns you into something else (a la Titan Quest.)
I know there is a cash shop, but I haven't looked at it. At this point, I'm not planning on buying anything so...I haven't delved into it. However, I have not seen anything in game (yet) where there is blatant "Hey, buy this thing!" nagging going on.
So, yeah. I'm having a good time with it! There's still a ton of stuff for me to explore that I haven't unlocked (crafting and housing, namely.) So, we'll see how it holds up as I get further into it.

I bought the same bundle! I can't wait to play Guardians of Ember as I love hack n slash games so I'm glad to hear it's not a terrible game! :D
Yeah! I'm on the NA server. If you're there, too, let me know your name and we can do the grouping thing, at some point. I'm Nylsira, dark knight.
