Otome - Mystic Destinies: Serendipity of Aeons, Tatsuya Route (SPOILERS)

I'm going to post Tatsuya's route behind spoiler text for anyone who wants to read. So, anyone who steps into the comments, be warned. Spoilers ahead!

When the prologue of our story draws to a conclusion, it is determined that the main character possesses great, sorcerous power. The problem is that she has newly awakened to it and, thus, is a danger to herself and others. Her professor tells her that she needs a partner to teach her proper magical use and to protect...well...everyone.

For my first route, I chose Tatsuya. He came across as calm, serious, and dedicated to learning, though somewhat irritable. Of all the men I could pick, I decided he was best suited to the task. He seemed the most reliable. And, I wasn't wrong. In fact, Tatsuya would prove to be just a touch too hard-working and dedicated...

Tatsuya is the eldest male child of his family and, as such, is expected to take responsibility for the family. Because of this, he takes on far more than he can chew, much of the time. He has his studies at Hagiwara University. He helps his grandfather teach martial arts at his dojo. He helps his mother at her cafe. He has taken on a new job working at restaurant to help support the family. And, now, he is supposed to mentor the main character. But, the pressure just keeps pouring on for poor Tatsuya...

It turns out that Tatsuya is half ice dragon. What that means for the story is a whole lot of political baggage. Katsu, the new leader of the Ryu clan (of which Tatsuya's family is a member), has decided that the ice dragon clan is too ensconced in tradition. The cling to old ways that hold them back from gaining true power and recognition within both the supernatural and human communities. So, Katsu has decided to cut a deal with one of the largest human corporations in the area to sell of portion of Ryu land in a bid to move forward into the 21st century.

Of course, Tatsuya's family is one of the unfortunates who will be affected by this. His mother's cafe is one of the establishments set to be sold. And, to make matters worse, the main character is the daughter of the CEO of Shinamura Corporation, the company that Katsu is trying to make a deal with.

Now, let's make matters even worse! Tatsuya finds out that the main character is the CEO's daughter. AND, Katsu finds out that the main character is not only a member of the Shinamura family, but she is also a powerful sorceress.

Now, the main character is being pulled in multiple directions. She truly understands and respects Katsuya's family...their wants, needs, and dreams. However, she has a duty to her own family to do what is best for Shinamura Corporation and her own father. Add onto that that Katsu is relentlessly pursuing her, trying to sway her to his side, knowing that a marriage between himself and the Shinamura family will only strengthen the Ryu clan. (Katsu makes no bones about it, though. It's not romance. It's business. Though, he is open to it becoming romance down the line.)
