Project Scorpio?

For the first time in many years, I only had 1 source of income in 2016. That means for the first time in many years, I'm getting a tax refund. Yay! It's been so frustrating seeing all the "Spend your tax refund on us" ads on TV when I had to pay more taxes year after year rather than get a refund.

Anyway, for the most part I'm going to be responsible with this unexpected windfall, but I'm considering taking like $500 of it and sticking it in a separate savings account for when Microsoft's Project Scorpio launches next fall.

That was my initial thought, but the more I'm thinking about it, the more I wonder if I really need Scorpio. I like the idea of a faster Xbox for sure, but when I get past "faster" and think "What will I play on it?" I'm coming up empty. I can't think of a single Xbox exclusive that I'm really excited about. I'm over Halo since it has become primarily an e-sports title, I've never been huge into Gears of War. Maybe the next Forza Horizons but that's a few years out I expect.

I suppose cross platform games will look even better on Scorpio than they do on PS4 Pro, but I'm really happy with the Pro and there are so many Playstation console exclusives that I love.

Maybe Microsoft is holding back on exclusives for the Scorpio launch? The only exclusive I can think of off the top of my head is Crackdown 3.

I'll probably still tuck that $500 away for the fall. But I might spend it on Scorpio and I might blow some of it on new games for the PS4 instead. Or heck, maybe even a Switch.
