Garlic Rice

Tired of dull, plain, white rice? Try this twist on it! Check it out, @nicholasdiak

Ingredients

  • 1-2 tsp Olive Oil
  • 2 or 3 cloves of Garlic, minced (depending on size of cloves and how much you like garlic)
  • 1/8 C onion, finely chopped
  • 3/4 C long grain white rice
  • 1 1/2 C water
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Directions

  • In a 3 quart saucepan, heat the olive oil on medium until hot enough to sautée.
  • Add the garlic and and onion and sautée, stirring occasionally, about 2 minutes, until fragrant.
  • Add the rice and give it a quick stir to coat the rice in oil.
  • Add the 1 1/2 cups of water.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, stir, and cover.
  • Cook about 12-14 minutes, or until the water has been absorbed and the rice is tender but not mushy.
  • Fluff with a fork, and remove from heat.
  • Season with salt and pepper, then serve immediately.
