Discuss theme parks all over the world!
What park do you most want to visit?
Welcome to the first weekly question at /themeparks! Today I am curious--what park that you've never been to before would you most like to visit?

I grew up going to Disneyland in California and I think it would be really cool to go to Tokyo Disney.
Definitely Tokyo Disney, even though I hear the lines are unfathomable.
And Shanghai Disney Resort!
Warner Bros Movie World in Australia looks like it could be fun!
I've never heard of movie world before! It does look fun.
I literally just looked up "Australia theme parks" -- it's amazing how many theme parks there are in the world that I've never even heard of...
Back in the good/bad old days of the ODP (dmoz now), I edited the Theme Parks category for a while. I LOVED finding information about parks I'd never heard of before.
I'd have to second Tokyo Disney as the one I've never been to before that I most want to visit. But the thought of that airplane ride is daunting.
What is this website I've never heard of before!
The daunting airplane ride and the daunting crowds...
The Open Directory Project was... like a curated directory of the Internet? Mostly volunteer, categories from A-Z, subcategories of categories each with editors who would review submitted links and give them neutral descriptions as well as look for sites that were appropriate for said categories. It was fun for a while. The behind-the-scenes stuff reminds me a lot of Imzy in beta. Discussions going round and round, trying to please everyone and failing, lots of growing pains, and so on. So, you know, it was just like real life organizations. Or every single online platform ever. 😄
Yikes! Trying to please everyone does tend to seem like a futile war. Hoping some better things here, though I, too, have seen the pitfalls in other platforms...
You know, I sound flip because smartass is my default setting. I'm really hoping Imzy succeeds.
And to keep this on topic, a picture of Tokyo Disneyland's Haunted Mansion!
Oooh! Shanghai's Disneyland doesn't have a "Haunted Mansion" because of cultural issues (they can't have depictions/suggestions of the dead) so instead they have a.... MYSTIC MANOR
I watched YouTube footage of a ride-through (because honestly, I don't know if I will EVER actually get out there to experience it) -- and it is soooo cool!!!
I did not know that! I'm going to hit Youtube right now.
