neuroqueer

The intersection of being neurodivergent and also queer.

imzy.com

As a post discussing neurodivergent experiences of gender was removed by the leaders of this community, I'm sharing the link to neuroqueer, where it is most certainly welcomed to talk about these experiences.

I want to clarify on the content removal, talking about being autistic and trans is fine. There is no issues with talking about that, but to suggest that autism is in of its self a gender. It also reeks of trolling in the same way the apache helicopter meme works. However I want to assume you are coming here in good faith.

That and someone with mental health issues and a professional diagnosis for aspbergers(something I disagree with that or it is so mild its non issue, though some research shows it can get really mild as people age dunno) I would be bothered at the idea of the suggest of that being my gender identity.

I haven't seen the post this is referring to, but I know he concept of autism as gender and I've always seen it as something people use to define themselves, not others. Did the post say that all autistic people are autgender (spelling?)? That would surprise me.

The user has been going around saying their gender is autism, and that guns can be a gender. They seem to be a troll. /Neuroqueer thought they looked like a troll too.

that is how i understood it, too. the post seemed ok to me, it didn't suggest that every autistic person would see their gender this way. and for those who do, "my nonbinary gender is closely linked to my autism" and "my gender is (my) autism" aren't really that far apart, so I don't see the issue, especially considering that some autistic people use language differently than non-autistic people do.

i was not aware that this person has been considered a troll on neuroqueer, i haven't really followed it lately. i'm sorry for potentially supporting a troll, i simply did not understand why the post got deleted.

My understanding of autgender stuff is that autistic people sometimes feel that their experience of their gender is unique and complicated because of their autism, and the relationship with their gender is inseparable from their experience of their autism. I didn't see any of the discussion in the original post though. I should have a read now.

Edit: Okay, this is just a link to neuroqueer. So I have no idea of what the OP was saying or whathaveyou. I will be quiet now.

Agree on the action. No one wanted to feed the discussion and it smelled trolly to boot.
