I have never had the displeasure of it my self, heard its painful and unpleasant, but it is the only FDA recognized permanent facial hair removal method. I know Laser hair removal supposedly can be permanent, but I have seen plenty of women who have had a lot of rounds of laser still with facial hair.
I've actually heard the opposite, that it's Laser which is the one that hurts most and only keeps the hair off for about 6 months to a year, versus electrolysis which can cause discomfort, but is completely permanent.
Going to depend on skin tone to some extent, but I have heard worse about Electrolysis, plus pain is subjective as heck.
Electrolysis is permanent no disagreement there, there can be some permanent removal from laser, but I know a lot of women who have had a lot of sessions of laser hair removal and still have beard shadow that comes back. Don't know anyone who has had hair come back from electrolysis.
In my experience the first few laser sessions hurt a lot but then it gets a lot better as the density of active follicles goes down. Numbing cream helps somewhat, too.
Did some preliminary tweezing on neck and the faint little circles on my jaw chops. It's fairly spotty but doing low hanging fruit to start. One at a time is not bad, well see what my skin had to say about it tomorrow morning.
If tweezing I never put anything on, after shaving don't use aftershave containing alcohol, it will dry out the skin. Post shaving moisturize, your going to have to find what works best for you skin. Aloe Vera, Coconut oil both have anti bacterial properties, keeping bacteria away post shaving is important, shaving removes layers of the skin and can lead to acne outbreaks.
Just a word of advise too on skin stuff, because both my mom, sister and I have sort of oily skin, both of them and me for a while used a lot of products to dry out the skin. People have this idea that any form of oil leads to acne. Often it is bacteria, so over scrubbing, over exfoliating(shaving will exfoliate your skin) will cause outbreaks. Oil actually inhibits bacteria, this is why you moisturizing after shaving and don't use say alcohol that will dry it out.
Nair is a terrible method. It's no better than a razor in terms of shadow reduction, and it's very easy to get a chemical burn, especially on the sensitive facial skin.
Ah fuck I ordered Nair never tried it before myself. I wanted laser but it's too expensive and Kaiser (my health plan) covers it for trans people. I really hate shaving and hate facial hair and wanted to try nair so I ordered it. Is it really bad?
From what I heard of, it's pretty similar to laser hair removal. Searching on Google however results in very contrasting opinions. Some say one is better, some say the other. It's hard to tell. Try searching for "IPL vs Laser Hair Removal"
Electrolysis is the most general and permanent, although I've mostly lasered mine off (but there's a bunch of stray white hairs that need to be electrolyzed).
Temporary removal, good razor, and some tweezers.
Permenant hair removal, electrolysis
Ah the electrocute the hair off of you method :P
I've heard it works very well though (and costs a lot)

Yes. I speak from experience on this.
How about pulsed light? That's the most accessible one where I live and it's the one I'm going to be doing
Keep me posted on that one. What's it supposed to do, trick your hair roots?
