She was right. For a while there, Al Jazeera was reporting news stories like an actual news outlet, rather than editorializing everything and ignoring stories that wouldn't help ratings like our "news" outlets, which is probably why they had to shut down Al Jazeera America. It just didn't play here because a) it wasn't as sensationalized and b) many viewers couldn't disassociate Al Jazeera with the terrorist videos that they received and reported on as news.
When there was global breaking news, Al Jazeera America was very reliable for providing hard facts that had been confirmed, rather than reporting baseless hearsay from Twitter as "unconfirmed reports" or what have you.
Our major news outlets all report what will help their ratings and they tend to do so with some degree of bias. It doesn't matter where they fall on the political spectrum. They all do it.
I agree with this, our news outlets in America are completely biased and only want ratings, just the other day before anything had even been confirmed they were reporting that osu was a shooting when the attacker didn't even have a gun and was attempting to run people over with a car at the start. They simply see that something is happening and assume half of the story until the rest of the facts are out because it gains them ratings and fits their narrative.
