TED Talk Subtitles and Transcript: Everyone has an opinion about how to legislate sex work (whether to legalize it, ban it or even tax it) ... but what do workers themselves think would work best?
This is freaking FANTASTIC.
"This is a lesson of history. If you try to prohibit something that people want or need to do, whether that's drinking alcohol or crossing borders or getting an abortion or selling sex, you create more problems than you solve. Prohibition barely makes a difference to the amount of people actually doing those things. But it makes a huge difference as to whether or not they're safe when they do them."

I'm more sure if I agree when talking about prostitution.
In the Netherlands we have had it legal for ages and the safety aspect was always a huge argument for it. However forced prostitution and human trafficking still remain a huge problem.
So even do I support the idea of it being completely legal in an ideal world, I'm not sure if I support it in the current one.
Perhaps the Scandinavian model of making it illegal only for the client fits my view better.
