a day late to nano with a harebrained project choice
not fiction, but a game design document. i haven't made a serious attempt at making a game since my teens and often got stalled once i had a demo together.
organized, aimed notes are key to me finishing...anything. ever.
i'm looking to have some time to myself this weekend and i could probably get a good chunk of the document knocked out then.
just...a short hybrid visual novel and rpg where unlocking an ending gives you new game bonuses that let you access new areas, skip replaying parts, and put together more aspects of the story. probably fifteen minutes for the first playthrough and two hours at the longest.
with inspiration ripped from wulfhammer and undertale for variable-tracking across playthroughs and wine & roses' battle system.
it'd be a proof of concept more than anything. "can i make this at all?" and "can i make this fun?" are the biggest questions on my mind. i've got solid art and sound concepts and a silly story concept.
