Draymond arrested for assault in Michigan

Warriors' Green arrested on assault charges

The Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green was arrested Sunday on assault charges in East Lansing, Michigan. Green was arrested at 2:28 a.m. ET Sunday and is scheduled for arraignment on July 20. No other details of the arrest were immediately available. In a statement, the Warriors said they are "aware of news" involving Green.

From what I've read, he landed a single slap to the face of a Michigan State football player at a place called Conrad's Grill in East Lansing at around 2AM on Sunday. He was released on $200 bond, and will be arraigned next Wednesday. No word on whether or not this affects his eligibility for Team USA or whether he will be facing any further punishment from the NBA.

The fact that the bail was set so low and that he was released nearly immediately makes me think that this wasn't a huge dustup and that the charges will get pled down to something nominal or dropped altogether. While Draymond needs to get his act together and avoid this kind of drama, it also feels like this specific situation was more of a molehill than a mountain. If the reported story is true, that there was a single slap and some yelling, then this whole thing just feels that it's being blown out of proportion.
