OMG KEVIN DURANT IS A WARRIOR !!!
My Next Chapter | By Kevin Durant
This has been by far the most challenging few weeks in my professional life. I understood cognitively that I was facing a crossroads in my evolution as a player and as a man, and that it came with exceptionally difficult choices. What I didn't truly understand, however, was the range of emotions I would feel during this process.

YESSSSSSS!!!!

I'm sad to be losing Bogut. :(
But happy to be getting Durant!!
As much as I love Bogut, from what I'm seeing Zaza is his equal or better in both the scoring and rebounding department. He's also another big body to have in the lane, that along with the Dubs style of help defense will do well in his limited minutes. He was a borderline all-star last year and signed for $2.9MM - this is insane.
I feel bad (not really) for fans of other teams, but this kinda like karmic payback for Warriors fans filling the Arena (and the Cow Palace prior to that) even when the teams were awful.
What's insane is that the Dubs will get a steady stream of rental veterans who want a ring in the next five years and are willing to take the league minimum salary for a year to get one.
I'm surprised Adam Silver isn't cracking down on us stealing Zaza and David West for pennies.
NYT says Steve Ballmer cried when he heard the news.
Goodbye Harry Barnes. Enjoy the Mavs! :)
Along with Bogut!
Mark Cuban trying to buy himself a slice of /warriors heaven. :)
..and Steph's little brother Seth, signed to a 2-year, $6MM contract. Seth played for the Santa Cruz Warriors of the D-League with Klay's older brother Mychel, which I always thought was a little funny.
Word is that David Lee will be signing with the team over the next few days for vet minimum. Not a great player anymore, but would replace a MacAdoo or other backup big and is an absolutely fantastic presence in the locker room.
Even stranger rumor I've heard is that Myers might be announcing Ray Allen coming back from retirement for a 1-year stint with the Dubs. They are going to be so stacked, this will be a seriously fun season.
Fun for us, misery for the rest of the league. Lebron should be thankful he was able to get a ring this year. :)
If the Mavs sign Michel and a player named Green they can have a Curry-Thompson-Green-Bogut-Barnes starting 5.
Getting David Lee back gives me nostalgia. Maybe we can get Bogut back for league minimum next year.
@nate @jewish_pacman @theothersideofthepillow @dan OMG OMG OMG YESH !!!
Maybe this is me being a geeky CEO but I'm reserving being excited to see the team chemistry.
I hear ya. It's all about chemistry. :)
This might be the only team I could even think would be able to handle having such a crazy lineup. None of the players appear to be ego driven, and at least outwardly they appear to be all about winning regardless of how that affects their personal accomplishments. Very few players, much less entire teams, share that kind of philosophy and it was IMO one of the main factors driving KD's decision - especially after dealing with playing with Westbrook (who definitely appears to be a more selfish player).
There's been a lot of discussion on local radio about shot distribution and making sure everyone gets their touches, but one thing in the Warriors' favor are their player rotations. Curry averaged 32 minutes a game and still scored 30ppg. There will be a ton of situations where only 2 or 3 of the "Fantastic Four/Fab Four/Four on the Floor" will be playing - where those shot attempts were going to Barnes or Speights last year, they'll be distributed amongst whichever of the group is playing. There's really no reason why Durant and Curry couldn't both average around 27ppg, with Klay at around 22ppg. Draymond will probably have less shots, but his assists will go way up.
Still can't believe that this went down - this is truly an amazing time to be a Dubs fan, even if they did just lose in the Finals. Their front office is far and away the best in the game and just pulled off the biggest
of all time in the NBA. October can't come soon enough 😄
Losing game 7 of the finals has gotta be a great motivator for all of next season.
I woke up to the news yesterday and didn't believe it at first - thought maybe I was dreaming and that I would wake up any moment to find out that not only did KD not sign, but Curry and Klay were traded for Kendrick Perkins and Matthew Dellevadova.
After getting up and showering and all that, I turned on the TV where they confirmed the signing and I still couldn't believe it. I was absolutely convinced that there was some kind of catch and the other shoe would drop momentarily.
It finally sunk in when I saw the videos of people burning their KD jerseys, or when Stephen A. Smith had an absolute blatheringly idiotic meltdown about some made up problem that he wanted to create a narrative about so that he could seem controversial.
The one worry I had was when they were talking about filling out the roster, and it appeared that they weren't going to be able to afford a passable excuse for a starting C. Once the other transactions were announced (HB finalized his contract with DAL, Bogut being traded, Zaza being signed) everything started to feel like it was coming together. Now with David West on board as well their bench is starting to fill out nicely, even if it isn't as much of a strength as last year.
I do hope they keep N'Diaye, the 7'6" C from Irvine, in the organization - players like him don't come along very often. Even if he's not going to be a major part of the roster, having someone that physicaly imposing would be a great trump card to pull in the right situations.
Oh man, I cannot wait until October. This season is going to be hella fun.
KD->😄Klay->😄 🏀 😄<-Curry😄< Draymond
I share your enthusiasm.
Are they able to keep Livingston? I forget if he's a free agent.
He had a team option that the Dubs picked up, so he'll be back this year.
Yay! That makes me happy. :)
