Westworld Theories: Good or Bad?
Did you like all the online theorising about Westworld, or would you have preferred it spoiler-free?

I'm not sure theorizing counts as spoilers though. I like talking about it. But I'd rather not dig through apocrypha looking for spoilers.
I think Westworld just had an extraordinary level of blogging around it, with everyone trying to guess where the story was going.
IMO, it did reach spoiler levels because the story was constructed as having a number of twists that were being flagged in posts and tweets weeks in advance by some sites.
Were they being flagged from inside sources or just people with good narrative understanding and intuition?
I guarantee that some of the reveals of twists were inside sources. A show this size, in development for as long as it was, can't keep it's storyline secret.
Boo. Inevitable, I suppose. But that sort of ruins the game.
I think sharing theories is a healthy part of participating in a fan community of an active/ongoing series. I think it's good and I certainly read them and engage in speculation.
That said... sometimes it can disappoint.
I experienced this with the recent season of Game of Thrones.
It can be disappointing if the theory you love doesn't happen, and something you think is less interesting happens instead.
On the other hand, if the theory you love DOES happen... it kind of just cements into a spoiler. (That happened for me, with this recent season finale of WestWorld... which I still loved.)
Yeah. We have some great Teen Wolf theories that didn't pan out, and the show went with things a lot less interesting. I don't mind if I'm wrong, but I'm wrong, it should be because they're better.
