Hey! I'm wolfpurplemoon, welcome to my personal blog!
Blast from the Past - 25th January
2008: Details of my trip to London to see Phantom of the Opera, for the third or fourth time! After the show we spent the night in a cheap B&B near Victoria Station and then spent the next day being tourists. We took an audio tour of London based on the Sweeney Todd story, that had been created to promote the movie.
It was mostly a tour of the sights of Fleet Street and the surrounding areas and at the end:
We got a little confused about the last part of the tour, but eventually found the tiny alley, Hen and Chicken Court, which it told us to walk up. It then tried to terrify us by saying that Sweeney Todd himself may have stood at the back door of his barber shop in this alley and may invite you up for the closest shave you have ever experienced, well the next bit is obvious and that's where the soundtrack ended! We were still standing in this tiny alley with no one else around!!
2009: It had been a very wet week with some flooding on the roads to work, also an interesting discussion about the pitfalls of a community being promoted on the homepage of Livejournal. Apparently this would cause a flood of posts as new people joined but also people trolling the community and giving the poor mods a headache for a few days. Hopefully stuff like that won't befall Imzy as it gets more users!
2010: I had a rather bad experience while giving blood, I'll put more details behind a spoiler tag for the squeamish! The title of the post was "Feeling Drained"...
I gave blood as I had done many times, though I commented on the fact that they no longer have a member of staff who stays with you while you bleed in to a bag, someone just comes back when you're done and patches you up. I'd been forced to sit up quicker than I was used to and was soon heading to the drinks and snacks table.
Once there I realised my arm was damp and I looked down and saw there was rather a lot of blood leaking from the needle hole. The person next to me also noticed and got a staff member's attention, I'd stood up to get attention and was told to immediately sit down!
My jeans and the coat I was carrying were splattered with blood and there was also a line of blood drips from the bed I'd been giving blood on. I was repatched up, and given a new plaster and didn't have any more issues though I did feel a little more light headed than usual and was expecting a bruise around the donation site.
