Carbon monoxide poisoning forces cancellation of Wisconsin game

The No. 1 ranked University of Wisconsin women's hockey team soundly defeated the Lindenwood University on Friday by a score of 5-1. Multiple Wisconsin and Lindenwood players were taken to hospital for evaluation but everybody has checked out okay.

So many players and staff were complaining of fatigue and shortness of breathe during the game and after the game that the paramedics and fire department were called. When testing was done by the fire department, it was determined the carbon monoxide level in the rink was 200 times higher than permitted. It's believed the excess fumes came from a malfunctioning zamboni.

To those unaware, carbon monoxide has no smell but can be fatal if large quantities are breathed in over a short period of time.
