Well the “grand duchy” just suggests a royal class in charge to me. It could be ridiculously over blown pomp and formal ruler who dictates every aspect of government, or it could be a normal modern society with a figure head who holds onto the title out of tradition. Who knows?
But Military Theocracy implies very specific conditions of government. It’s deeply controlled by a singular religion, and organized like a military organization. You definitely have uniforms and ceremonies.
Without more context I’d say the Military Theocracy is more interesting. But either one could be fleshed out to be fantastically entertaining.
What draws you to these particular forms? Is it just the names, or something deeper?
Perhaps it could have started as one but moved into becoming another, but many want it to go back to what it used to be while some want something entirely different?
I cannot decide. both sound intrestting but i cant decide
