Why Barcelona could lose LaLiga
Barcelona's margin for error is gone. While the team's loss against Valencia might have been fluky, it also serves as an extremely painful and prescient reminder of just how easy it is to lose a game you dominate simply because the ball won't go in the dang net. Whether it's luck, pressure, fatigue or any one of a number of factors that even themselves out over the long run, with four games left Barcelona are officially out of "long run" for this season. The team simply can't afford another weird game, with two teams waiting to leap from them if they drop any points.
It also means the three-headed monster of Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Luis Suarez aren't likely to get any rest. It's hard to pinpoint exactly how fatigue impacts a team but it's equally impossible to ignore just how many minutes those three have played.
The run of bad form also struck just after all three forwards were away on international duty in South America carrying their respective teams. Tired legs aren't solely responsible for Barcelona's dip in form -- it's messier than that -- but it's naïve to think it doesn't play some role. Tiring legs and no margin for error is always a scary proposition, even for a team as good as Barcelona.
