New Comics Day Open Thread - 01/04/2017
New Year, new comic day! I'm looking forward to Hawkeye and Unstoppable Wasp today. Also to Giant Days, which I binged over the holidays and just adored. More comments to come after I read this weeks pulls...

Saga continues to be awesome.
The Wicked and The Divine continues to be awesome.
Black Science continues to be awesome.
U.S. Avengers was so much fun, completely over the top but so much heart.
Champions #4 was better than last month but I'm not sure that it's enough for me to keep buying past the first arc.
Update: Unstoppable Wasp is amazing, and if you read it and don't enjoy the hell out of it then I have no idea how to relate to you.
Giant Days was fairly pivotal.
Old Man Logan was enjoyable in the space parts, less so in the Wasteland parts. I thought we got over the Wasteland months ago, yet here we are.
Hawkeye is a ton of fun. This series is my first exposure to Kate Bishop, and I'm enjoying the hell out of the experience so far. The writing is sharp.
If you're interested in more awesome Kate Bishop, the LA Woman arc of Matt Fraction's Hawkeye run is incredible. I think it is the third trade/arc of the book, though it jumped back and forth between Kate and Clint during the original printing. Annie Wu is on pencils for most of that arc, and she has some of the best Kate reaction panels ever. The rest of the run with David Aja is also amazing, and filled with Kate being best Hawkeye, but the LA Woman arc is a great prequel for Thompson's run. I would not recommend Lemire's run post Fraction, though. Really not a fan of a lot of it.
Also in 100% agreement with you on Wasp. Her freaking out at Bobbi for all of her work in STEM, and Bobbi's reaction were great.
I just looked through my folder of panels from this arc. There is so much good Kate Bishop.
This is still one of my favorite panels ever though:

(Don't know how to make them just embed, but oh well.)
+1 to the LA Woman story arc recommendation. While I think the Kate/Clint interaction is some of the best parts of both Fraction & Aja's respective runs, LA Woman left me craving a solo series starring Kate.
I'm really hoping we get some crossover with America Chavez's solo book, too (and vice versa).
Thanks for the recommendation (both you and Psyche)! I'm gonna check out LA Woman on Unlimited this weekend.
