There is no reason in the world to bring back Stewart Cadwall. Probably the worst thing about Secret War 2 (And it's very telling his appearing again in this turd of a crossover).
A caricature created out of hate and malice toward Steve Gerber should never even be referenced again not to mention writing him for whatever reason. He is unsalvageable and really should not come upon any grounds especially almost a decade after Gerber's death. So again WTF Marvel!!!!!!
Maybe the Gages wanted to move the character away from a caricature. More likely, they just figured enough time has passed that the caricature no longer matters, and thought he'd be a fun cameo to toss in.
Anybody check out Blue Beetle rebirth? I was kind of let down, to be honest. The whole issue felt kind of jarringly mean-spirited. Snotgirl #2 did not disappoint though.
It becomes more and more apparent that Jaime Reyes is doomed to redo his original story for all eternity, Which is really sad since there are countless of stories you can tell with him, and they are pretty much sticking to one with minor changes.
New Avengers #15: WARLOCK QUOTES DIRTY HARRY.

Yes. Yes yes yes. Al Ewing is the best.
Also, in Hellcat #9, Jubilee turns to mist. With sunglasses. That may be the most Jubilee thing ever.
Can we talk about Captain Marvel #8?
.... you start.
NO REALLY HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO TALK ABOUT THIS ISSUE SERIOUSLY WHEN YOU BRING BACK STEWART FUCKING CADWALL. WTF MARVEL!!!!!!!!!!
Bless the Gages for that. That made me happy. Such a ridiculous character to bring back.
