OT: The Ultimates explains comic book time.

The new issue of Al Ewing's The Ultimates (which is basically a Fantastic Four book without the FF) explains why time slides in the Marvel U. Why it was always a couple years ago that all this happened, arguably why kids stay adorable moppets.
The book is amazing and constructive in a way few things in Marvel have been in a long time. Easily my second fave Marvel book right now after Ms. Marvel.

This is right up there with She-Hulk (2005 series) #21, where Dan Slott uses an inter-dimensional doppelgänger tourist company as a potential explanation for like 90% of all continuity errors and inconsistencies in the history of marvel comics.
I loved that story.
Al Ewing is a treasure.
Having e-mailed him in a panic at 3 AM today for help on a cold open, I 100% agree.
This shit is so comicbooks it's incredible. Events as black holes that affect time and space. Sounds right to me.
So THIS explains Artie Maddicks and Leech....
It's worth noting that this idea is subverted as soon as it is introduced. Galactus says to Eternity that the people to whom he was explaining this "saw only what I wished them to, a simplified view of timespace. Seeing the full scope of reality would be too much for them." And then there's a pretty dramatic double-page spread after that which I won't spoil here.
It's a very good book. I hope people are reading it.
Ultimates is currently the only non-X-Men Marvel title I'm reading after Secret Wars. It is fantastic so far, both the writing and the art.
as a lover of comic book lore and mythos this was an amazing read and i hope Al Ewing will be abale to keep this book as good as it is for the rest of his run.
Seconded for the same reasons. Huge fan of the way he is tying things together, and the writing and art are fantastic. I hope the quality continues AND the sales stay strong enough to allow it!
