I'll be nominating The Two Faces of January, a movie starring Oscar Isaac, Viggo Mortensen, and daddy issues. (Also Kirsten Dunst, but she was sadly given way too little to do.)
If I can write up the posts to argue that they're distinct, I'm probably going to try for Transformers: Windblade (again) and the Combiner Wars web series. Other than that, Devastation (I'll probably try to write something for that just so AO3 knows it exists). Or Sunless Sea, with the Captain and Frostfound as characters.
Set in a cyberpunk future ruled by corporations, RAZOR SHARP is the story of quirky thief, Veronica Sharpe. Hired to steal a revolutionary codebreaker from a high-security building, her unique morality is put to the test when the technology is revealed to be a brilliant little girl. Starring Cassidy Freeman (LONGMIRE, SMALLVILLE), Michael T. Weiss (THE PRETENDER), and Skye McCole Bartusiak (24, BOOGEYMAN), this was the first professional project that I directed.
Since its debut, RAZOR SHARP has won over twenty film festival awards, including Best Action Film at the San Diego Comic-Con, and has been featured in media outlets ranging from "Scr(i)pt Magazine" to MTV. It even has its own comic book spinoff.
In all ways, this short is a love letter to my two favorite things: DIE HARD and BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER.
I'm planning on nominating Dr. Franklin's Island, which is a YA sci-fi novel involving three teenagers who get stranded on an island, captured by Dr. Franklin, and used as subjects in his genetic experiments meant to transform humans into animals. Much of the story involves them plotting together to escape and trying to maintain their hold on humanity.
I'm also thinking of nominating the music video for Feral Hearts, by Kerli. I feel like there's a potential for interesting fic about the girl floating through the faerieland she seems to have entered.
I am definitely going to be nominating the historical rpf pairing of F.E. Miller/Aubrey Lyles as depicted in this year's wonderful and frustratingly short-lived musical Shuffle Along! I am probably one of the only Yuletiders who actually had a chance to see this musical before it closed (don't get me started, sigh), but I'm so glad i did. It was amazing and their relationship was lovely.
I haven't decided about other nominations yet! but i tend to nominate the same ones year after year, so maybe Vesper Holly, Once on this Island, and Stranger on a Train.
In case anyone is reading this & is overwhelmed by fandoms, I'm not planning on nominating anything this year, and I know a dentist who is also willing to nominate fandoms/characters.
this news story
That actually originated from a (since deleted) reddit post from r/relationships, but I have the screencaps if anyone's interested.
I would definitely be interested! I never got the chance to see the original post.

gosh, it's even more precious in his own words <3
I read that r/relationships post when it happened and just sent it to all my friends in a cacophony of slash-friendly delight, lol
...isn't this kind of like nominating real-person fic? I thought that was only okay for celebrities and for consenting non-celebrities.
Hmm, that's a good point. I'm not sure where this would fall on that scale.

I haven't decided on the rest, but one will definitely be Voltron: Defender of the Universe (Devil's Due continuity).
This flight booking service's kitten videos
This abdominal pain medicine commercial for some femslash
Some of Tom Scott's short sci-fi dystopia scenarios:
Welcome to Life: the singularity, ruined by lawyers
Is This You?
The Bubble
Oversight: Thank you for volunteering, citizen.
Still trying to narrow it down.
Wow, that commercial is incredibly femslashy :D

I'm debating whether to nominate anything old, but I'm definitely going for The Two Faces of January, which certainly feels classic.
The Broken Earth series! I'm really looking forward to it.
Rivers of London, 19/2, Alex Verus series, Holby City if it's still eligible and probably New Blood.
Holby City! <3
Thinking of nomming Spencer's Ukiah Oregon books
Stranger Things, but I suspect I won't be the only one.
