The Zero Waste Movement seeks sustainable solutions to the many environmental problems posed by single-use plastic.
Adidas Shoes Made From Ocean Plastic Are Finally Here
Adidas Shoes Made From Ocean Plastic Are Finally Here
Environment Adidas' latest running shoe is subtle and soft-looking, with stitching that evokes the sea. It's also made almost entirely from plastic recovered from the ocean. Last year, Adidas teased a prototype of a shoe that it was working on with the intent of playing a small role in cleaning up the oceans and adjust its supply chain to better reflect the constraints of climate change.
Adidas is stepping up its sustainability game with a new sneaker made with pastic waste!
"In 2017, the brand aims to produce 1 million pairs of the sneakers from more than 11 million plastic bottles. Eventually, Adidas strives to eliminate virgin plastic from its supply chain altogether and hopes to expand its plastic cultivation to much more of its product line."

I love things made from recycled stuff. :) I recently tried on some jeans from Howies (Wales-based nice stylish everyday-wear outdoor-sportish clothes shop) that are kinda stretchy and have a very soft comfy insulating layer inside that's made from recycled plastic, they were great! Totally not my style (I prefer straight cut and baggy), and they're pretty pricey, but Howies are goooood quality and I liked them a lot aside from the cut. :)
Pretty cool! Denim containing cotton and polyester made from recycled beer bottles collected from American football stadiums! That's fantastic! Great share! Thanks!

Yeah, me, too! I hope that this project is an example of more widespread sustainable actions on the part of big businesses to come!
