"Coffee to go again" is trying to fight single-use coffee-to-go cups.

"Coffee to go again" is trying to fight single-use coffee-to-go cups. Where you see this sign, you are welcome to refill your own cup. 🔹But the campaign wants more: - add extra taxes for single-use cups; - introduce german-wide reusable coffee cups with deposit. Great idea. A cool program in Germany with the goal of replacing single-use coffee cups with re-useable cups. Customers would pay a small refundable fee for the containers, redeemable upon return.

In Germany it's quite typical to pay a small refundable fee for containers that is redeemed upon return. This is typical in grocery stores for bottles (plastic and glass) and glass jars. You even see this at bars for beer bottles and at Christmas Markets where you have to pay 1 euro as a refundable deposit on the ceramic mugs in which your Glühwein is served. For this reason I think a program like this would be well received in Germany.

What do you think about the idea of creating a tax for single use cups? Do you think people in your community would be willing to pay a deposit for a reusable coffee cup?
